 Biography

• 1982: MA at the TU Berlin
• 1984-1989: assistant for romance languages at the TU Berlin
• 1986: doctor of philosophy
• 1990-1992: Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft post doctoral lecturing qualification scholarship 
• 1993-1995: professor of Italian and French literature at the University of Osnabrück
• 1995: post doctoral lecturing qualification in romance languages
• 1995-1996: professor of general literature and comparative literature at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich 
• 1996: participation in the interdisciplinary research project "Gesture Recognition with Sensor Gloves" at the TU-Berlin
• Since 1998: member of the project group "Berlin Lexicon of Everyday Gestures".
