Aims of the DGS
The DGS promotes:

basic semiotic research at universities and other institutions of higher
education,

the application of the results of semiotic research to working life,

the semiotic reflection of everyday life and of aesthetic experience,

semiotic instruction at schools, universities and other institutions of
higher education,

interdisciplinary work in the humanities and the social, natural and technological
sciences,

and international cooperation in academic disciplines and the arts.
The DGS supports:

semiotic publications in journals, books and book series and .
-
up-and-coming scholars of semiotics within the German-speaking region.
